Nominations are now being accepted for the 2024 Dr. Hossein Fallahzadeh Public Health Hero Award.
Nominees are accepted and reviewed for the following criteria:
Display exemplary leadership and diligence in promoting public health.
Have made remarkable contributions and support in fostering public health programs.
Work or actions will have impacted the community’s health in a positive way.
Must live and/or work in the Lake Cumberland District.
This award is named in honor of its first recipient, the late Dr. Hossein Fallahzadeh, a long-time surgeon in Somerset and board member for the District Board of Health.
In 2023, the award was presented to Dr. Richard Miles of Russell Springs, a physician for over 40 years. Both recipients have been staunch supporter of public health in the Lake Cumberland District.
