Rural Overdose Prevention Assistance (ROPA) is a program funded through a grant from Kentucky Department of Public Health and Kentucky Injury Prevention and Research Center (KIPRC). The progam provides case management services for all 10 of our counties. Community Health Workers will assist adults at risk for an overdose by providing or linking to an array of services. Case management and referral services offered through ROPA include substance abuse treatement, self-help, and support groups, educational support, heatlh education, mental health services, medical services for chronic conditions, parenting education, transportation assistance, housing referral, food assistance referral, health insurance and prescription assistance, and job training and placement services. Other services provided for in this grant include targeted naloxone distribution, link to Medication Assisted Treatment, providing 911 Good Samaritan Law education for the community, link to one of our 5 syringe exchange programs, and community education on Casey’s Law.
