Description:
Provides entry-level nursing functions and services to individuals and families under close supervision in a clinic or community setting, focusing on the prevention of illness, injury or disability, the promotion of health and maintenance of the health of populations. The nurse in this classification would receive job specific training in the requirements and scope of practice of the various assigned health department programs and services.
Minimum Education, Training or Experience: See special requirements.
Special Requirements:
Must have RN license in Kentucky or compact state or provisional license in Kentucky, meeting all requirements of KRS 314.041 and approval to practice as Registered Nurse Applicant (RNA).
Starting Salary: $20.30 – $25.24 Hourly – Grade 17

2. FAMILY SUPPORT WORKER I IN CASEY COUNTY
The Lake Cumberland District Health Department is accepting applications for a Full Time Family Support Worker I for Casey County.
Description:
Responsible for initiating and maintaining regular and long term contact and provide support to first time voluntary parents during the prenatal period and extending up to but not inclusive of the child’s second birthday. The entry-level incumbent would participate in on the job training programs to become knowledgeable in introducing parenting skills to empower families to make their own decisions while remaining non-judgmental of families they serve.
Minimum Education, Training or Experience: High School diploma for GED.
Special Requirements: Must be 18 years of age. Must have telephone accessibility. Must have reliable transportation and valid Driver’s License. Criminal background check.
Starting Salary: $13.50 – $16.79 Hourly. Grade 10

4.HANDS SPECIALIST I for Taylor and Green Counties
The Lake Cumberland District Health Department is accepting applications for a HANDS Specialist I covering Taylor and Green Counties.
Description:
In the Health Access Nurturing Development Services (HANDS) program, responsible for reviewing clinic records and interviewing / conducting Parent Visit Assessment/Survey with parents (prenatal and/or immediately after the birth) to determine appropriate level of support from the community. Families facing challenges will be offered visits by a Family Support Worker, if the family opts out of participation they will be referred to appropriate community resources based on family needs
.Minimum Education, Training or Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Nursing, Early Childhood Education or a Bachelor’s degree in a Social or Behavioral Science related field may also be considered with one (1) year experience performing case management services.
Typical Working Conditions and unique physical requirements:
Work will require travel to family homes or within the community setting when not in the agency office.
Starting Salary: $17.04 – $21.19 Hourly Grade 14
