Walktober 2024 is more accessible to everyone

Walktober is back in the Lake Cumberland District and we’ve made it easier than ever to participate. This year, we are expanding our routes to include YOUR route! That’s right, you can walk wherever it is most convenient for you.

During October, complete at least 3 walks on a route of your choice. There is no requirement on where you walk.

We encourage everyone to share their experience on their walk. As you are on your walk, take a selfie and caption it by telling us if it is your first, second, or third walk. Then post it using the tag #LCDHDWalktober24.

Visit LCDHD.org/walktober to register and then return after your three walks to complete the evaluation. If you are looking for a place to walk, you will find a list of trails in each county there as well.

Those who register, participate, and complete the evaluation form will be entered to win prizes given in each county. You must be 18 or older to receive prizes. For more information, call 800-928-4416 Option 4.

Physical inactivity is one of the primary health concerns in the Lake Cumberland district. Obesity, heart disease, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and type 2 diabetes are just a few of the possible conditions related to an inactive lifestyle. Walking can help combat all of these conditions.
